16th-Mar-2012 05:40 pm - Be Heard Be Part of Research

Hi All,
My name is Rischa I’m a lesbian, doing research with our community.
I am passionate about research because professionals use studies like this one to make decisions about our health care.

I was hoping that you would want to get involved, especially by spreading the word on FB, Blogs, (real friends) Etc.

For this study, we are looking for women (trans-inclusive) 18 years of age or older, who self-identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, or questioning (LBQ). The purpose of this study is to learn about gender presentation and substance use in LBQ women.

This study had been approved by the St. John’s University IRB. Thank you for your time.

25th-Jan-2012 09:35 pm - mixed feelings lesbian love
I always knew one day I would find out what it ment to be totally made
love to. It took another woman to show me how to totally let go and relax
and enjoy and trust the one you are with . Being married for thirteen
years just going through the motions, knowing deep down it was a mistake
to marry. trying to hide who I really am a gay woman trying to live a
straight life.

The first time I saw her I knew we would get together. And one night we
did I spent fifteen hour's in her arm's , that was the best night of my
life. It made me realize what I want in a partner.

Returning home seeing my husband outside playing with the kid's . Him not
knowing , just glad that I'm home after our big fight the day before.

Now a few weeks have passed , all I can think about is her, and what we
shared that night. Seeing her now in the salon where she works for a
friend of mine. She act's like I'm not there , talking to everyone else
but me, never looking my way . Was I just a quest for her a one night
stand . I pick up the phone to call her , but hang up before I do ,

Now I'm just confussed not knowing what to do whether to be honest with
my husband and tell him the truth . Or do I go back to living my life
just going through the motion's.

Gender ID: non intersexed, hermaphrodite-identified trans woman. im both butch and femme at the same time, and sometimes i sort of swing back and forth, but i NEVER see or allow anyone to see my masculinity as male or any sort of manhood.

i went through a period where I had to be a man to survive, and i never want to go back to that.

Operative status: Pre-op, technically. Ive been on HRT about 5 years now. Still figuring shit out.

Relationship Status: I used to be really into men and women, as in, I was really pansexual, as well as being involved in porn and being a sex worker. After some massive personal realizations and spiritual transformations, i realized that id been abusing myself and disrespecting myself my whole life by choosing extremely abusive sex partners, as well as by doing sex work in the first place.

18th-Jan-2010 02:12 am - hi from greece!
Hi! I'm Dis, a virgin single lesbian in male body (mtf) from Greece who is not seeking transition yet, living as a feminist genderqueer (no-ho, non-op). I'm 28 years old, I love to read books and go shopping! I'm new to this stuff, I don't fully cross-dress yet, but I've the most beautiful nails (woa tried french manicure today for the first time) and women's bags:)))
The David Letterman show on the CBS network has insulted Amanda Simpson, a trans woman who was recently appointed to the U.S. Commerce Department by the Obama administration. In the clip below David Letterman announces the news, followed by a guest on his show who breaks out in shock that "Amanda used to be a dude" the man is disgusted and outraged and runs off stage, the segment insinuates the man had some sort of relationship with Simpson and reinforces the sentiment that being transgender is somehow disgusting, misleading, and abnormal.

The video clip, other remarks by Letterman on LGBT issues and ways to contact the show are available below:

26th-Nov-2009 11:28 am - It's Sad
I'm sad that the resources for transgendered persons in the PNW are so limited on line. Everywhere I look the posts are several months old. I am unable to see anyone in person except my therapist until September. It'd be nice to have a pen pal or some one to whine to. Oh well, I guess I have to be a big girl on my own.
